I recently received this email from a researcher on behalf of Channel 4:"I am wondering if, in your years as a divorce lawyer and divorce muser, you might be able to suggest how I could find one or two couples in the process of divorce to talk to me. It's a tall order - for a start they need to have separated or divorced within 12-18 months of marriage and, secondly, which is the hardest part, in order for them both to be willing to speak to me, they'd really have to be speaking to each other!...The interview would be recorded on camera, though not broadcast - only I and Channel 4 would see it. And the aim of the interview is to try and ascertain what are the reasons behind marriages breaking down early."
If you think you can help, email me at john[at]familylore.co.uk, and I will forward your email on.

Not a very literate researcher, which doesn't bode well for the interview, and I'm puzzled why Channel 4 should be taking an interest in why marriages break down early unless it actually was for a programme, otherwise it is bit, you know, outside their remit.
ReplyDeleteFortunately, nearly legal, I shall be using a camera - not pen and paper - to record to the interview, so hopefully my poor literacy skills won't impede the process.
ReplyDeleteI am developing and researching merely an idea for a Channel 4 programme, so all footage shot will be just a visual record of the research, and not broadcast.
Researcher, I can see how filming would be an advantage ;-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the process...
