Speak out against domestic violence

Refuge, the charity for victims of domestic violence, is running a petition aimed at encouraging the Government to do more to support women and children experiencing domestic violence. It points out that nearly one in three local authorities has no specialist domestic violence service in their area whatsoever, and that England still lacks the recommended level of bed spaces proposed back in the 1970s – one bed space per 10,000 population. Refuge are lobbying the Government to ensure that every woman and child, no matter where they live, can access domestic violence services.
