The Higgs boson and lawyer time

The God particle discovered?
Forget Bob Diamond appearing in front of the Treasury Select Committee, a far more important event is taking place today: the announcement by Cern scientists of the discovery of a new particle consistent with the Higgs boson.

I used to envy scientists, thinking how important their work was compared to the petty nonsense that lawyers (and divorce lawyers in particular) spend their working lives dealing with. However, having read this excellent post by James J. Gross at the Maryland Divorce Legal Crier, I wonder whether lawyers are more important than I had thought - perhaps they hold the key to one of the great mysteries of science: the expansion and contraction of time.
