As UK families comes to terms with a ‘new normal’, Action for Children is supporting parents and children with practical and emotional help and advice. Our specialist support workers are available to talk on a range of topics to help parents and families through the coronavirus crisis including:
  • Supporting your child’s mental health and emotional wellbeing

  • Nutrition
  • Bereavement

In addition to running frontline services across the country, the charity has launched a new website to provide more digital support to families during the pandemic - parents.actionforchildren.org.uk. It offers parents one-to-one support via an online chat service. In the first week questions we supported parents with included:

‘We are struggling with our 12 year old who is very anxious and  has episodes of hysteria’

‘I am struggling with money while the kids are off school’

‘My ex isn’t working at the moment and wants to stop maintenance’

‘My daughter is 16 and vulnerable but keeps trying to leave the house’
