Privy Council considers family trust in matrimonial property case
On 3 August 2020 the Privy Council will hand down judgment in Webb v Webb, an appeal from the Court of Appeal of the Cook Islands. Full story: Family Law Week.

Family Justice Council to hold its seventh Open Meeting on 19 October 2020
The Family Justice Council will hold its seventh Open Meeting on 19 October 2020, from 11.00am until 2.00pm by MS Teams. This will provide an opportunity for members of the public to see first-hand the Council at work. Full story: Family Law Week.

Practice Guidance on Service of Part 4 Family Law Act 1996 applications, orders and notification to the police: Pilot Practice Direction 36U
At its July 2020 meeting the Family Procedure Rule Committee considered the issue of service arrangements for applications for orders, and orders made, under Part 4 Family Law Act 1996 (FLA 1996 orders), particularly in light of the temporary restrictions that were then in place around bailiff service because of the Coronavirus outbreak. CASES

KN (A Child) (Art 15 Transfer) [2020] EWCA Civ 1002 (30 July 2020)
Appeal by a mother against a decision in care proceedings concerning her son to request a French family court to assume jurisdiction under Article 15 of Council Regulation (EC) 2201/2003 ("BIIa"). Full report: Bailii.

Rogan v Rogan [2020] EWFC B32 (OJ) (09 June 2020)
Further hearing in long-running financial remedy proceedings, concerning husband's application for variation of lump sum and periodical payment orders, and wife's Hadkinson application, in which she sought to prevent the husband from pursuing his variation application until he had done certain things. AB v AN & Anor [2020] EWHC 2048 (Fam) (28 July 2020)
Application by mother for a Female Genital Mutilation Protection Order against her husband and the paternal grandmother, the application being for an order that the Respondents do not remove the child from the UK and they do not perform FGM on her. Full report: Bailii.
